Life Skills: "Gaming with Scratch" Coding Workshop by Micron (23 August 2019) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Children’s Wishing Well (CWW) is a registered charity and IPC founded in 2002. We have won the Charity Transparency Awards accorded by MCCY from 2019 to 2023. We focus on supporting children and youth from low-income families, mainly through educational programmes and financial assistance. We reach out to over 1,000 beneficiaries each year via 2 full-service centres, 8 community sites, and collaborations with other charitable organisations. We depend solely on donations from private organisations and members of public to fund our services, while keeping all our programmes and services 100% free of charge for the children and families. We believe that by providing the children with educational support and more equal opportunities, they will be able to maximise their potential and get out of the poverty trap.

16 Sep Life Skills: “Gaming with Scratch” Coding Workshop by Micron (23 August 2019)

[Life Skills]

Friday 23rd August 2019

A team of volunteers from Micron Singapore gathered at our center to teach our children basic coding “Gaming with Scratch”. The volunteers were well prepared and meticulous with the delivery of the session. The children were also excited that there were tasty treats to reward them for their time and attention during the session.

Director Mr. Howard said: “This is a very meaningful charity event and (I am) heartened to see Micron team members contributing back to the society using their programming skill sets to train and inspire potential next-generation data scientists.”

We are looking forward to more activities with Micron!

And we are glad to know that the MCI staff who had generously purchased the handicrafts enjoyed the interaction with our children! Because, from the smiles on our children’s faces, we know that they had enjoyed their time with the MCI staff just as much!
