We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our financial assistance programmes are designed to meet the basic needs of our beneficiaries, ensuring they have the necessary resources to participate fully in daily activities.
Grant-A-Wish
A wish need not be profound. Sometimes, a child’s wish can be what most of us consider basic and simple necessities. Children’s Wishing Well provides support to our children in the form of such items that they require to participate in daily activities. These include household items, spectacles, and laptops:
Grant-A-Wish (Individual)
Grant-A-Wish allows children and youths who are on Ministry of Education’s Financial Assistance Scheme to ask for something that they need either for themselves or for their families, and which assistance is not available from government funding schemes. Examples of these items include sports shoes, sports equipment for CCA use, household furniture or electrical appliances etc.
Grant-A-Wish (Spectacles)
Spectacles are a basic need for students with myopia and other eyesight difficulties. Children’s Wishing Well sponsors brand new spectacles for all students in order for them to be able to learn effectively. The maximum amount of subsidy will be the actual cost of the spectacles, or up to S$120, whichever is lower and based on official receipts.
Grant-A-Wish (Laptop)
In today’s technological era, all students need access to a laptop not just as an added tool to aid their learning but as a need for Home-Based Learning (HBL). The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the stark inequality as we saw most of our families did not own laptops and children were not able to participate in HBL. We hence now give out brand new laptops under our Grant-A-Wish (Laptop) programme to ensure no child is left behind in their capacity to participate in HBL and utilise laptops for projects and learning.
