Career GPS: SAP Asia - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Children’s Wishing Well (CWW) is a registered charity and IPC founded in 2002. We have won the Charity Transparency Awards accorded by MCCY from 2019 to 2023. We focus on supporting children and youth from low-income families, mainly through educational programmes and financial assistance. We reach out to over 1,000 beneficiaries each year via 2 full-service centres, 8 community sites, and collaborations with other charitable organisations. We depend solely on donations from private organisations and members of public to fund our services, while keeping all our programmes and services 100% free of charge for the children and families. We believe that by providing the children with educational support and more equal opportunities, they will be able to maximise their potential and get out of the poverty trap.

17 Jan Career GPS: SAP Asia

[Career GPS] Students from Clementi Town Secondary School and Westwood Secondary School had a wonderful time at SAP, as they learned that an IT company is actually much more than just hardware and software, it is also about the “heart-ware” of the staff!

Students were given an introduction of who SAP is and what it does, followed by a tour of SAP’s Leonardo Centre, which houses the latest innovative technology created by SAP. The students had a glimpse of the future through the Smart Warehousing, Vehicle Insights and Smart Stadium Experience.

After the hardware and software segment, we moved on to the “heart-ware” part, where students were treated to 3 very personal and informative sharing by staff with very different family background, from across different departments, doing very different work. It was indeed an eye-opening experience for students who had assumed that an IT company only accepts employees with a certain qualification or background.

And finally, the students were tasked with a challenge, to see which team could finish the race using a spherical robot controlled by mobile devices. The enthusiasm grew as the students became familiarized with the operation of the robot and how to overcome the race track. And of course, the winning team walked away with a lovely prize.

This is our final Career GPS of the year, and it ended on a very high note, as evident in the smiles and laughter of the students. We are very appreciative of the effort put in by the SAP staff to make this event a success. Thank you SAP!
