Career GPS: Credit Suisse (26 Apr 2019) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Children’s Wishing Well (CWW) is a registered charity and IPC founded in 2002. We have won the Charity Transparency Awards accorded by MCCY from 2019 to 2023. We focus on supporting children and youth from low-income families, mainly through educational programmes and financial assistance. We reach out to over 1,000 beneficiaries each year via 2 full-service centres, 8 community sites, and collaborations with other charitable organisations. We depend solely on donations from private organisations and members of public to fund our services, while keeping all our programmes and services 100% free of charge for the children and families. We believe that by providing the children with educational support and more equal opportunities, they will be able to maximise their potential and get out of the poverty trap.

16 May Career GPS: Credit Suisse (26 Apr 2019)

[Career GPS]

Friday 26th April 2019

We are incredibly privileged to be able to be attend Credit Suisse’s excITE! program.

More than 40 students from Westwood Secondary School and West Spring Secondary School had the rare opportunity to visit the Trading Floor at Credit Suisse; as they gained valuable insights into the daily work being done there, as well as the staff’s journey from being a student to an employee at Credit Suisse.

The students were also greatly inspired by Mr. Herman Kamarudin’s sharing, whose journey from being an ITE student to a staff of Credit Suisse, and in the process, fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot, struck a chord with the audience.

The session concluded with intimate small-group discussions facilitated by former excITE! mentors. Students were able to ask any question with regards to the mentors’ personal life journey and their work at Credit Suisse.

Two hours flew by. At the end of the session, students still lingered at the lift lobby, conversing with the mentors.

We would like to thank Credit Suisse once again for inviting us for this meaningful excITE! program. We sincerely hope that there will be an opportunity for our other beneficiaries to benefit from this program.
