Groceries-For-Families: Lions Club of Singapore Ladyhill (10 May 2019) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Founded in 2002, we started as a help desk for latchkey kids. The Founder built a team that offered advice to students who seemed lost and lacked family support. Today, we provide a broad range of assistance. We offer monthly groceries, lunch pocket money and cooked dinners. Our signature program, Grant-A-Wish, helps needy students with necessities for education, health and basic living. We have thus provided spectacles, hearing aids, sports shoes or equipment, book vouchers and household items. Even fumigation services.

16 May Groceries-For-Families: Lions Club of Singapore Ladyhill (10 May 2019)

[Groceries-For-Families]

Friday 10th May 2019

Our volunteers from Lions Club of Singapore Ladyhill were back once again for another round of packing of groceries! It was great to see some familiar faces who were with us during the packing in 2017 and 2018. Indeed, some were so familiar with the procedures that they immediately set to work while waiting for the rest of the members to turn up.

As the number of grocery bags to be packed this month had increased to 295, we mobilised our own Core Volunteer Team as well as some very regular ones to come by to assist.

Volunteers from both sides worked so well together that we finished packing 295 bags in just an hour, with almost zero error!

We would like to thank Ms Serene for organizing the members of Lions Club of Singapore Ladyhill to volunteer with us for consecutive years. The continued support is very much appreciated!

We also would like to thank our Core Team and regular volunteers for invaluable help in facilitating and anchoring the session.

While we may not have photos of them in action, we would still want to acknowledge the contributions from our unsung heroes – the Delivery Volunteers who spend their Saturday morning delivering grocery bags island-wide.

For this month, other than our own regular Volunteers, we had help from staff of Standard Chartered Bank, members of Lodge of St. Andrew, volunteers from Lions Club of Singapore Ladyhill, as well as Ms. Natalie Eng, who managed to gather 7 vehicles for the delivery!

Ultimately, the success of this program, be it packing or delivery, depends very much on our dearest volunteers. We can never sufficiently express our appreciation and gratitude in words. But still, we try.

Thank you very much, dear volunteers!
