Learning Journeys: Bond Over Play (13 September 2019) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Founded in 2002, we started as a help desk for latchkey kids. The Founder built a team that offered advice to students who seemed lost and lacked family support. Today, we provide a broad range of assistance. We offer monthly groceries, lunch pocket money and cooked dinners. Our signature program, Grant-A-Wish, helps needy students with necessities for education, health and basic living. We have thus provided spectacles, hearing aids, sports shoes or equipment, book vouchers and household items. Even fumigation services.

04 Oct Learning Journeys: Bond Over Play (13 September 2019)

Friday, 13th September 2019

During the September school holidays, we took a trip to Admiralty Park to bond over play. The children were told to bring their own snacks. Though not all could afford to bring their own food, they ended up with enough to feed everyone. It was heartening to see them bring enough for their friends to share. The playground is a child’s temple. It is a place to run without being yelled at, to get scrapes and not care, and to imagine limitlessly. Kids on a playground are just like people living their lives. The exhilarating moments on the swings and the liberating experiences on the huge and long slides were perfect for bonding through play.
