Career GPS: Keppel Infrastructure (23 March 2017) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Founded in 2002, we started as a help desk for latchkey kids. The Founder built a team that offered advice to students who seemed lost and lacked family support. Today, we provide a broad range of assistance. We offer monthly groceries, lunch pocket money and cooked dinners. Our signature program, Grant-A-Wish, helps needy students with necessities for education, health and basic living. We have thus provided spectacles, hearing aids, sports shoes or equipment, book vouchers and household items. Even fumigation services.

31 Mar Career GPS: Keppel Infrastructure (23 March 2017)

Fourteen students from Westwood Secondary School took part in a half-day event organized by Keppel Infrastructure.

First, they visited the NEWater Plant, and learned about how NEWater is being processed and made. They also tried out wearing the Personal Protective Equipment and had a mini contest to see who could get dressed up in the shortest time. The Assistant General Manager of the Plant also shared in depth about his work as a Health, Safety and Environment Officer. He also spent some time emphasizing the importance of safety.

Next, they made their way to the Tuas Waste-to-Energy Plant, where they learned about how waste is being turned into energy. The General Manager of the Plant also explained to them what it means to be an Engineer. The session ended off with a group activity to see who could build the best structure using recycled materials.

The day ended with a sharing session at Keppel Bay Towers by both students and staff from Keppel Infrastructure. We hope the students had benefited much from this informative and enriching event. Thank you to Keppel Infrastructure for making this possible!
