Why ‘Junior Stars @ Central’
‘Junior Stars’ by Central Singapore CDC aims to narrow the gap by providing equal learning opportunities for children from lower-income families in the Central Singapore district. We will also expose children to future-ready skillsets for jobs of the future, helping them achieve a better life.
Who can benefit
Children aged 7 – 12 from primary schools, community, or grassroots organisations based in Central Singapore district who are:
- Singaporean or PR; and
- From families with a gross per capita income of $1,000 or below
What is ‘Junior Stars @ Central’?
‘Junior Stars @ Central’ offers a “Plug-and-Play” model which provides flexibility for community partners to come on board at any point of time.
The new format provides an expanded program menu for partners, focusing on children’s personal well-being (sports and outdoor activities), personal effectiveness (teamwork and leadership), and future-ready topics (Digital, Arts, Environment, and Sustainability).
Partners can select up to maximum of 3 workshops for each child beneficiary.
This series of workshops enhances children’s physical health and emotional well-being by empowering them to strengthen both body and mind. It also develops personal effectiveness and life skills, equipping children to make responsible decisions and lead with confidence.
