International Women's Day Celebration (Credit Suisse) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Founded in 2002, we started as a help desk for latchkey kids. The Founder built a team that offered advice to students who seemed lost and lacked family support. Today, we provide a broad range of assistance. We offer monthly groceries, lunch pocket money and cooked dinners. Our signature program, Grant-A-Wish, helps needy students with necessities for education, health and basic living. We have thus provided spectacles, hearing aids, sports shoes or equipment, book vouchers and household items. Even fumigation services.

14 Mar International Women’s Day Celebration (Credit Suisse)

Friday 8th March 2019

More than ever before, we stepped up efforts to celebrate International Women’s Day and raise awareness among our beneficiaries about the importance of gender parity and reinforce the need to collectively help celebrate achievements to empower each other. An enthusiastic group of 20 volunteers from Credit Suisse and SCORE kicked off International Women’s Day with an impressive programme of activities that encouraged students to adopt tangible action to impact change.

They shared some fascinating insights as to why this day is commemorated across the globe. Challenging inaccurate stereotypes and limited perceptions about both genders, the students willingly participated in break-out activities, including sharing their take of the opposite gender. Our beneficiaries were engaged and truly enjoyed the activity.

Later that afternoon, they sat down with the volunteers to make cards for the significant female figures in their lives. It was heartening to see them have fun while donning their creative hats .We could not help but melt reading the uber sweet messages they had written in their cards.

The session concluded with a delicious spread of finger food. We could not have asked for a better way to end the week.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Credit Suisse for their mazing efforts all round!
