Life Skills: Up-cycling and Entrepreneurship Workshop by MCI (5 July 2019) - CHILDREN'S WISHING WELL
Founded in 2002, we started as a help desk for latchkey kids. The Founder built a team that offered advice to students who seemed lost and lacked family support. Today, we provide a broad range of assistance. We offer monthly groceries, lunch pocket money and cooked dinners. Our signature program, Grant-A-Wish, helps needy students with necessities for education, health and basic living. We have thus provided spectacles, hearing aids, sports shoes or equipment, book vouchers and household items. Even fumigation services.

16 Jul Life Skills: Up-cycling and Entrepreneurship Workshop by MCI (5 July 2019)

[Life Skills]

Friday 5th July 2019

Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to Ms. Yan Yee, Ms. Samantha and the team from MCI for organizing this very meaningful Up-cycling and Entrepreneurship Workshop for our children! Although the turnout was less than expected, we can safely say for sure that for the 13 who attended, they enjoyed themselves tremendously and had learned plenty!

Our beneficiaries do not get many opportunities at acquiring entrepreneurial skills, while at the same time learning to be more environmentally conscious, hence it had been a wonderful experience for them to market and sell their own handmade handicrafts. Apparently, MCI staff were amazed at how quick-witted and convincing our children were when promoting the products!

And we are glad to know that the MCI staff who had generously purchased the handicrafts enjoyed the interaction with our children! Because, from the smiles on our children’s faces, we know that they had enjoyed their time with the MCI staff just as much!
